What do the Judges Look For?
The judges job is to evaluate and rank each bands performance. Judges are chosen based on proven abilities in their respective areas.

Marching General Effect: Judged on showmanship, variety, originality, overall setup, demand on individuals, exposure to error, coordination of musical/visual elements, command of audience, and spectacular effects.

Marching Execution: Judged on alignment, rank, file, diagonal, uniformity of distance and interval, uniformity of style of step, discipline, dignity and bearing, uniformity in position of instruments, and equipment.

Music General Effect: Judged on effectiveness, content, difficulty, demand, changes in tempo/meter, balance/blend, expression, dynamics, brilliance, richness,tonal sonority, excitement, and audience command.

Music Execution: Judged on Brass/Woodwind tone quality, intonation, articulation, note accuracy, rhythmic accuracy attacks and releases, and phrasing.

Brass, Percussion, Woodwinds: Judged on balance, difficulty, demand, performance, precision. uniformity, musicality, tuning, and tonality.

Auxiliary: Judged on content, overall setup, interpretation, coordination to music, difficulty, demand on individuals, performance, precision, execution in handling equipment, marching technique, discipline, dignity, and bearing.
